I'm a junior doctor based in London, who loves baking and strives to bake the world a better place.

Why fundraise for KRUK?

3 million people suffer from kidney disease in the UK, 1/3 people suffer from chronic kidney disease; yet there is no cure, and there are very limited ways in which we can curb progression. I know a few friends now who have suffered this fate of end stage renal disease, and the prognosis is poor. 5 people a week also die waiting for transplants. So do support me in my motion to raise funds for Kidney Research UK - we desperately need good research and breakthroughs in kidney disease, which will save many lives.

In the next four months, I will be working in the laboratory setting, with the aim of exploring the role of macrophages in diabetic nephropathy as well as IgG4-related kidney disease. This will take place at Imperial College Healthcare, Hammersmith campus.
