Story

Williams Story:

William is 2 and a Half, last October william was given his Autistic Spectrum Diagnosis. He struggles with many things but mainly his development with social skills and communication. He can't cope with noisy busy places, too many people and we risk a major meltdown. He regressed and lost what few words he had around 15 months and is still unable to talk. But he absolutely loves to be outdoors, running around, jumping in puddles and climbing around are his favourite things, which is why we thought The Rainbow Walk was such a good thing to do that he could get involved with too!

Autism West Midlands is our nearest charity that arranges different activities, social meetings for mums, workshops for parents and siblings, coffee mornings, online learning about autism and how it affects people, information on autism and sensory processing. We need more for our rural communities and I hope by helping with fundraising some of the services might get extended further out!

So taking part in this rainbow walk to raise money for such a fab cause is of course the main man William, Steph - his mummy(Me) , his crazy aunty Freddie (Jo) , beautiful cousin Kari Moo and of course our main support... His lovely Granny -Sue! And of course we will all be dressed bright in our rainbow colours!!

We are also fundraising through the town with different events with businesses such as Simply Stunning, The Sandwich Bar & Coffee Shop and Dawleys. Waiting to hear if we can host an event in the local children's centres and started a Puzzle Piece Selfie campaign on facebook. We are very hopeful to raise some money for such a good cause!

So please dig deep, were already feeling the benefits of what Autism West Midlands can offer!
