Our daughter, Darcey - Rae, was born on 20.05.20 and sadly passed away on 21.05.20 following complications at birth. There was no history of health issues and no prior warning that her little life would be taken away from us so it came as an enormous shock and the devastation was unimaginable. Thanks to the actions of the Neonatal team and the surgeon who worked so hard to bring Darcey back to life, we were lucky enough to be able to hold her in our arms for 29 hours until we had to make the decision to turn off her life support machines. It’s unthinkable as parents to have to make that kind of decision but the support we received from all of the staff on the unit was incredible. We would like to raise money for the Neonatal Unit and to hopefully cover the cost of what it takes to look after a child such as Darcey for one day which is around £1,200. Although they couldn’t save our daughter we hope that it will help them to continue to deliver the extraordinary care to other children that are in need of a miracle.
