Story
This is Daniel. In 2015 when Daniel was only 7, his brother
Nathan, then aged 9, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. When
Daniel was visiting Nathan, on ward 4 in the R.V.I in Newcastle, he was a
little taken aback to see all the children with no hair. While on the ward he
noticed a sign for ‘The Little Princess Trust’, a charity that provide real
hair wigs for children and teenagers during treatment. He decided right then
that he would grow his hair to donate. Over the last four years he has done
just that, even though he has been mistaken for a girl on many occasions, even
when on the rugby pitch! Well the time to cut it has arrived and will take
place at;
ACKLAM RUGBY CLUB,
GREEN LANE
ON SUNDAY 28th
APRIL
APPROX 2pm
He would also like to raise money for the Anthony Nolan.
This is because 18 months into his 3-year treatment plan Nathans cancer
returned in his spinal fluid. His only chance of surviving was to have a bone
marrow transplant. Unfortunately, none of us were a match so we turned to the
Anthony Nolan register, within a couple of months a match was found, and Nathans
transplant was able to go ahead. We are delighted to say that it was a success and
now (18 months later) he is doing amazingly well.
Thank you for any donation you can make.
Frances
(A very proud mum)
Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer or blood disorder. We do this by matching incredible individuals willing to donate their stem cells to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant. We also carry out cutting edge scientific research, fund specialist post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families through the transplant process and beyond. We won’t stop until we save the lives of everyone who needs a stem cell transplant. Every penny you donate brings us closer to that day.
