Story
This is my first Triatholon and the first time I have raised money for a charity so please give generously to this local hospice.
I'll update the webpage as training progresses although things are slow at present - hamstring in tatters after an ill-concieved game of football.
31st March
Back on the training. Hamstring alittle tight but completed 15km on the bike followed, painfully, by a 4km run. The transition from bike to run is absolutely murderous but so far so good. All that remains is to check the average times for such things and see where we stand...and for Man United to overcome Bayern Munich.
Many thanks to Shelley for the first donation. Hoping everybody else is struggling with modern technology for online donations.?.!
15th April
So far so good with the training.
Aiming for 18km bike then 4km run this month and the times are improving each session.
Don't misunderstand, not winning times, but above average according to the triatholon website!!
Dreadful result against Bayern. Dreadful.
5th May
Target of 20km bike then 5km run this month so i'll see how things go.
Slow start to training this month - exhausting trip to Portugal on a friend's stag party dominated the beginning of the month. Once sober, i'll clamber onto the bike.
30th May
Good progress now although avoiding the swim like the plague. Bike times 35minutes (average 47) and run 24 (average 27).
Still no sign of a wetsuit yet - pictures to follow but believe me when i say it is not the most flattering garment i've ever seen. Infact seems to be a consistent theme with the Tri kit..
20th June
Sorted the wetsuit - after an eternity in the shop and several impossibly tight downsizes. Tried the thing a couple of times and does a good job at keeping the water out and the body warm. Not so great in allowing the chest to expand for much needed air.
Swim now very interesting.
The bike has also been on a couple of test drives and all good although it is alittle old, the back tyre was flat, and the chain keeps on slipping.
Situation excellent.
