Update:

The race took place last night on a hot muggy evening in London's Regent Park. It was a great event, with over 500 runners from the property industry taking part in a buzzing atmosphere. Although its nearly 20 years since I last ran competitively, the old feelings of anticipation were still there as I lined up, about two stones heavier than before! Nontheless I have been training hard for three months and had knocked about 20 minutes off my earlier times for this run in practice, so I had hopes that I would hold my head up amongst the 15 other younger and fitter members of my company team, not to mention the other 500 runners. How did it go? Well I can honestly say that I ran 100% flat out all the way, with absolutely nothing left to give at the end. It was tough! But I finished in just under 50 minutes and beat a few of my fellow team mates so proving there is a bit of life left in the old dog yet.

I am absolutely delighted to have smashed my target for fundraising and I am very grateful to all of you for your generous support, it is much appreciated. I did keep my promise to run flat out but more importantly, together we have raised a significant sum to help disadvantaged young people in the UK.

I'm lucky enough to have four great kids. I also know that there are plenty of kids around the UK who are also great but they need help to fulfill their potential and become really worthwhile members of society.

My 10k effort in Regent's Park on 18th June will help LandAid do some serious good, with practical local projects directly benefiting young people all over the UK.
