Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The National Federation of Roofing Contractors Limited (NFRC) is the UK’s largest roofing trade association. With a history spanning over 125 years, NFRC has established itself as the voice of the roofing industry, continually adapting to change and innovation to ensure its members are at the forefront.

For some years, the incumbent President of the Federation has chosen a charity that is very much close to their heart. On the 11th May 2018, Parkinson's UK was selected by Steve Revell on taking the chain of office.

Parkinson's UK is a charity that drives better care, treatments and quality of life for those affected by Parkinson's. Steve chose this charity, because having a mother with this condition, he has first-hand experience of what this disease can do to those you love.

The chances of developing Parkinson's is 1 in 40, among those aged 50 and above. However, it can strike at any age, and there is no known cure. Much of the current treatment is based on the use of drugs that have been in use since the 60s. Therefore, greater funding and development is desperately needed.

Our goal is to raise over £25,000 during the President's two-year team. Please give generously.

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
