Survival of the Fittest · 20 October 2013

We help the babies, children and young people treated at Scotland's largest children's hospital, the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. We fund medical equipment, research, play programmes and family support services to ensure that our young patients receive the best possible care and experience.

Story

My friend Karen told me she's doing the Survival of the Fittest race in Edinburgh to raise money for Yorkhill Children's Hospital, a place I became pretty familiar with in March this year when my wee boy Seb ended up in there. He was quite ill at the time but was skillfully brought back to full health by some really incredible people. So, what reasons could I have for not doing the race myself? Well firstly, I've only got two weeks to train having run twice in the past year with the last time being an unspectular 3km which involved stopping to be sick. Oh, and the race is actually 10k assault course set on a hilly course in Edinburgh. But stuff it, let's do this for the kids. If you can spare a couple of mins to donate on JustGiving it would mean a lot to both me, Yorkhill, and anyone who's ever relied on it.
