Story

Molly is one of my daughter’s best friends. She is eight years old and was diagnosed with cancer when she was four. Molly has undergone numerous courses of radiotherapy and chemotherapy and despite this remains one of the happiest, friendliest and kindest children I know. She has even starred as the voice of Jenny in an Aardman animation to help kids understand radiotherapy. (See my videos)

Emily is the sister of one of my son’s best friends. She was born with a heart defect that required operating. Emily succesfully underwent two open heart surgeries before she was 6 months old.

Both Molly and Emily have spent countless hours and days at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and the care and expertise that they and their families have received have made such a positive difference to their experiences.

They are both an inspiration and have provided me with much needed motivation while pounding the footpaths, lanes and towpaths come rain or shine.

Lets make all the unhappy bits inside you, happy again!

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
