Just completed the annual Eastbourne Santa 5k. 9th out of 340 wasn't bad! Ho, ho, ho!
Some of you may know I do a little bit of running – I’m no Mo Farah by the way! I'm running at various events this year ranging from 5k, 10k and 10 miles to raise money for charity.
I played football regularly until I broke my back - ouch! As I spend most of my time behind the wheel or at a desk I needed to keep fit. Bizarrely the most comfortable option was through running, which, I hasten to add, found incredibly boring.......... however, I have stuck at it, rain or shine, impressing myself and my wife!
I have chosen Cancer Research to raise money for. Why did I choose Cancer Research? Well, almost everyone is affected, directly or indirectly, by cancer. I'm hoping that the small part I am able to contribute will help someone - no matter how small it might be - the thought of helping brings me a sense of satisfaction and also the motivation to keep on running.
I appreciate that nearly every day someone might be asking for sponsorship for something so any spare money will be greatly appreciated. If all my friends, colleagues and contacts were to donate just £2.00 each I would raise a fantastic amount of money.
It is so easy to do!
Thank you for listening, I know times are tough, but I hope these donations can make someone’s life that little bit easier.
