Story
Hello and thanks for visiting my Justgiving page.
In 2008 I said never again, well here we are in 2010 and on Sunday 25th April I'll be doing it again I'll be running the London Marathon, so as they say never say never.
In 2008 through all your kind donations I managed to raise over £4,000 for the Guide Dogs for the Blind. This year I will be running in support of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and all the great work that they do.
Yorkshire Air Ambulance is a charity who rely on the generosity of individuals and organisations to help save lives across the Yorkshire region. They hit the headlines a few years ago when they came to the help of Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond following his crash at Elvington airfield. This year to date they have already rescued over 3,000 patients.
To keep both of Yorkshire's ambulances in the air they need to raise £7,200 per day which is equivalent to £2.65 million per year. Now this target would be a little ambitious even for me so I have set a target of £2,000 which would be fantastic if we could reach.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate as little or as much as you can. In 2008 all the messages of support and donations really helped me through the 26 miles.
Many thanks
Steve
