The EBA makes a positive difference for babies, families and staff in Neonatal Care at the Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton, and the Special Care Baby Unit at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath. We raise funds to purchase equipment for the units to help save more babies lives.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you will know, my beautiful daughter, Freya-Mae, made her entrance into this world 6 weeks early in 2009. She weighed a tiny 4lb 1 oz & had irregular breathing when she was born.

She was immediately rushed to intensive care in the Trevor Mann Unit, where she received the most amazing care from all of the staff there. She had numerous tests & monitors, suffered with quite severe jaundice & really struggled to learn to feed. During your time in Trevor Mann, it takes over your world 24/7 & the nurses are truly amazing in supporting & helping you through. Despite all of the drama, Freya-Mae was a little star & managed to be discharged after only 10 days, which is no time at all compared to some of the other babies we met.

We met some amazing Mummies & Daddies at the unit who weren’t quite as lucky as us & had truly suffered through heartbreak. Others had long (sometimes months & months in the unit) & worrying journeys to go through before they were able to bring their little ones home.

Without the amazing support of the staff & the fantastic equipment within Trevor Mann, then they wouldn’t be able to help as many special babies as they do.

The Earlybirth Association provides essential equipment & support to the Trevor Mann Unit, helping more little ones & their parents every day. They provide a huge range of donations to the unit, from small items such as blankets through to life saving equipment & incubators.
