My wife, Deborah died in September 2011 after a long battle with cancer.  When the battle was fought and we were reaching for the sky just to surrender, St Raphael's Hospice were there to care and ease the pain allowing her to reach final peace with dignity surrounded by her family.

Nobody deserves to die in pain and without dignity.

The bottom line is "St Raphael's Hospice relies heavily on charity fundraising, donations and legacies and depends on the generosity of the local community to continue providing a high quality of care. It costs nearly £80,000 a week to keep the Hospice running. More than 80% of income is spent on direct patient care, including medical and nursing salaries. We receive a grant of about 25% of the those costs from Sutton and Merton Primary Care Trust (the NHS) but the rest must be raised from donations and fundraising activities."

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
