Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We are Soldiers from 11 EOD Regiment RLC based in Didcot, Oxfordshire. We are raising money for the Bomb Disposal charity "Felix Fund"

Felix Fund exists to support any military personnel who have conducted or assisted with Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) duties, and their families.

11 EOD Regiment RLC is the British Army's specialist unit responsible for counter terrorist bomb disposal and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), the recovery and safe disposal of conventional munitions. Since 2003, 11 EOD Regiment has been constantly deployed at 25% strength in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere, dealing with upwards of 40 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs)a day. IEDs are usually (but not always) fabricated from non-military components, incorporating destructive, noxious, pyrotechnic or incendiary chemicals, and are designed to destroy, incapacitate, harass or kill.

Twenty nine operators have lost their lives carrying out EOD duties since 1971: 22 in Northern Ireland, 1 in Iraq, 6 in Afghanistan

The number of lives saved by Bomb Disposal experts is incalculable.

We are going to TAB (tactical advance to battle) the London2brighton challenge, which is an ultra marathon consisting of 100kms (62miles) of undulating terrain. We are going to complete the challenge in military style kit, carrying 16kg. We are aiming to complete the course in under 24 hours and as a team.

The money that is raised will go to therapeutic normalisation breaks to help bomb disposal teams readjust to life in the UK after serving in Afghanistan. It will also go to support welfare and rehabiltation facilities, and building a hardship fund for all, it will support the trade's many injured and bereaved, but also members of the wider "bomb disposal family" who have otherwise fallen on hard times.

So please dig deep and donate now.
