Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In June 2010, with my 40th birthday looming and my physical condition lacking I made a decision to get back to my fighting weight by jogging round the local park. The first run ended in a walk, a red face, a headache and very sore legs! But I remained determined and once I ended my sponsorship of the Kronenbourg brewery I began to see some progress.
After the initial wave of motivation, I started to enjoy jogging - I was actually close to running and needed a goal! Following an unsuccessful application for a place in the Marathon, Sense offered me a gold bond place, taking me under their experienced wing and supporting my training goals.
I am hoping to complete the Marathon in under 4 hours. My training was going well until Achilles Tendonitis put a stop to any exercise for two weeks. Thankfully, I'm now back on my feet and working hard to get back on track.
Sense is a very inspirational organisation and getting out running on a dark, cold, wet Wednesday evening is made easier knowing that I'm helping them in a small way. Take a look opposite to see for yourself - if you agree, please support me in my efforts to raise money for such a good cause.
