WHAT?

On the 11th May 2010, myself and 14 others will be cycling from London to Paris in aid of Friendship Works (see below). This event has been organised and sponsored by my company, Colt. The route will start at Colt's main London site, Beaufort House in Aldgate, and will finish at a Colt site, Rue De Wattignies in Paris, this will be a total of 290 miles split over four long days!

This is going to be a hard test of fitness and stamina, which i have none of. I have never rode this far before, and i don't think i ever will again!!

WHY?

We therefore would like to ask you for your support by sponsoring me and raise money for theLondon children’s charity Friends United Network.

This is a fantastic cause which provides long-term one-to-one friendship and support to children in need (aged 5-16 on referral) and growing up in socially isolated, lone parent families. Friendship Works volunteer befrienders commit to taking a child out every week for about 3-4 hours over a minimum of 2 years. At a time when so many people and organisations are looking for quick fixes for the problems in society, Friendship Works continues to believe that, making a lasting difference, takes time, care and commitment.
