4 Wollaton Park 10k (15th June time 59:45)

5 The Great British 10k London (14th July time 1:04:23)

6 the Nottingham Robin Hood half marathon (29th September time 2:19:24))

7 Nottingham Survival of the Fittest 10k urban assault course (12th October time 1:37:55)

I'm doing all of these events for the folowing reason

In Feburary 2012 my dad had a triple heart bipass and all was going well until his legs started swelling in August 2012. Shortly after this he went to hospital where it was discovered he was in renal failure. Shortly after this he started dialysis and all looked well but in late November he had to go back in to hospital as it was not working. After various tests and interventions he was told he would need permanent dialysis and was given a prognosis of 3-5 years left. A week later he started having serious breathing difficulties and after various tests was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer and his prognosis was reduced to 2-6 months. Unbelievably just a few days after this his blood pressure became so poor that dialysis was felt no longer beneficial and his prognosis was reduced to 3-5 days, We got him home where he wanted to be and he passed away less than 24 hours later on the 20th December 2012. It was not the prospect of death that upset us all but the speed at which it arrived. I am raising money to aid the battle to prevent other families experiencing what we did. Love you dad xx
