Story

I support the Society for Science because the world's most pressing challenges need talented young people to be part of building solutions.

Growing up in rural New York, I was lucky enough to join a science research program, where I developed epidemic simulations. I defended this work at the regional, state, and international levels in Society for Science programs — differentiating myself for college admissions and earning scholarships that paid for my Stanford education. I went on to become an engineer, leveraging they skills I had learned in breaking down hard problems and defending my ideas on a near daily basis. Science research fundamentally changed my academic trajectory, which in turn, changed my career trajectory. I have spent the last seven years working on reducing the 20 cents of every dollar spent in manufacturing that is wasted – an efficiency gain that humanity needs for a more sustainable future.

There are thousands of similarly challenging problems to solve for humanity – so join me with an investment in the next generation of scientists and engineers who will be building the solutions.
