...Strathallan Charity Fashion Show, hosted by TV presenter Carol Smillie at Gleneagles Hotel on Sunday 25th March...

We are a team of students at Strathallan School who have been organising a charity fashion show for almost a year now. Over this time, we have been meeting every week, approaching different companies from all over Scotland (some even down in London!) and raising awareness about CHAS through fundraising, facebook, twitter and even our very own t-shirts!

In September, we took the opportunity to visit Rachel House, our local children's hospice. When we arrived, we were amazed at how homely and welcoming the hospice was and the attention to detail that really makes Rachel House a 'home from home'. It was incredible to see just how much hard work the volunteers put into the hospice and the outstanding care which they provide.

Over recent years, the hospice has been providing support for more and more children our age. These teenagers have very little or no independence from their parents and carers. Many cannot even do basic daily tasks which many of us would not think twice about. The most shocking thing was that many of these children will never make it to adulthood - at a time when we are all focused on leaving school, it is very easy to forget how much we really do take for granted...

We decided we really wanted to raise money for their 'Teenage Weekend' scheme which allows teenagers to have a weekend away with their friends to events like T in the park and so we have been working so hard to organise a charity fashion show to help these children and reach our target!
