We enable access to mental health support to help young people in the UK.

Story

The 6 day challenge will take in a number of amazing parts of the South West of England starting in Wolverhampton and finishing 6 days later in Helston.

The challenge has been designed to support the mental health education charity helping young people, Beyond Shame Beyond Stigma, which was recently founded by Jonny Benjamin MBE and Neil Laybourn.

Why am I putting myself through this and encouraging others to do the same?

Many of us have been impacted by mental health either directly or indirectly and for me my eyes were really opened when one of our friends told us about her son's challenges with mental health and his attempted suicides. The impact on him is terrible and so is the impact on his family and friends.

I wanted to do something to help without being interfering and therefore set up this challenge to help raise awareness and raise funds for a charity that's supporting young people with their mental health.

The challenge starts in Wolverhampton on Friday 28th July and finishes in Helston on Wednesday 3rd July where we have arranged with the charity for a series of mental health talks to be delivered at Helston Community College to the pupils during the day and the local community in the evening.

I will find this challenge difficult and would welcome support from other cyclists that can join me on route to help get me to the finish line. If you would like to join me then please do get in touch.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
