Story

CRACKED IT and managed to knock a minute off last years time so approaching 40 at pace!  Sorry I have been late updating here but will be sending individual thanks out to all.  Looks like we have raised a bundle for the Trust House and once we have worked out the total we will send a detailed update and link you up to the blog on progress.

Huge thanks

My Cause..........

Camps International Trust, the charitable arm of Camps International, has a new vision. Currently Muhaka village is one of Camps International most established project locations.   We have helped rebuild the school, built 500 energy efficient stoves for individual households, reconstructed  homes for widows and elderly people and  initiated a number of income generating opportunities for the community. Now we have decided to expand the work of the Trust there and, with your help, we intend to build ‘The Trust House’.

The Trust House will be a learning and information centre for children, young people, and other disadvantaged members of the local area that will cater not only for basic needs but also provide a lasting foundation for individual and community development.  It will encompass creative, ethical and environmental principals and practices.  Built alongside a Camps International Volunteer Camp this will be a sustainable initiative delivering vital help to the whole community of 5000 people living below the poverty line.

80% of Kenya’s population  reside in rural areas; the majority of whom have no access to the basic needs of clean water, food and education and thus have virtually no opportunity to break out of the cycle of poverty.  By providing educational tools and opportunities The Trust House will provide a community focal point for poverty reduction and local enterprise.  Construction of the Trust House is going to cost £18,000. Roughly this breaks down as £3,000 for the land, £10,000 for the build, £5,000 for the water bore hole, fencing, furniture etc.

Please make a donation to The Trust House.  Your funds will go directly to our cause.  No salaries, just projects.  it really will make a real difference to those who need a leg up.  You will be able to track progress via regular blogs on the Camps International web site and see for yourself the impact of your support as the build progresses
