We deliver global disability trainings to improve the lives of disabled children

Story

MAITS is a disability charity whose mission is to improve the lives of some of the world’s poorest people living with disabilities, through better access to health and education services and support. MAITS supports people with developmental disabilities such as cerebral palsy, autism and learning disabilities in low-resource countries.

On a really small annual income MAITS makes huge impact on the lives of some of the poorest people in the world including:

In India teaching local therapists to make rehab equipment
out of paper and card.

Training community health workers in Pakistan to support families with children with disabilities.

and

In Rwanda delivering training to community midwives in life-saving infant feeding techniques.

In Rwanda many babies are born prematurely, and many have a disability. These babies really struggle to feed and MAITS’ clinicians have developed life-saving training using low-cost, low-tech solutions
that help babies to start successfully breastfeeding almost immediately.

Out of all the great things MAITS does, for me the infant feeding programme is the most inspiring.  The training that MAITS provides can save the life of a new born baby by teaching simple techniques to community health workers who, in turn, can help many desperate mothers and families.

Any donations would be gratefully received.

Thank you.
