At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2007. He was a highly intelligent man who worked hard, was a role model to me and my sister and a loving husband, father and grandfather.

As his disease gradually got worse, he had to move into a nursing home. He lived at the Flowers Hall Home in Huddersfield who looked after him fantastically and even though his speech got progressively worse we knew he was happy there.

On 7th January, Dad passed away at the Flowers Hall. Many of his family were there when he peacefully slipped away.

Alzhiemer's is a horrid disease that takes away the person from the inside out. I am taking on the National 3 Peaks challenge to help raise funds to beat this terrible disesase.
