Sue's Cancelled Clay Pigeon Shoot

Cancelled Clay Pigeon Shoot · 28 April 2019
Dear All
The beginning of 2019 was a difficult time for both Justin and I having lost Justin's mother and my parents moving into the cottage with a live-in carer for my mum - we have a lot on our plate just now. Regrettably we have decided to cancel the clay pigeon shoot this year - the first time since we started it in 2002 :-( We have every intention of doing it again next year and hope to make it bigger and better than ever before!
If you could help compensate by making a donation to Ali's Dream that would make me feel better about our decision.
Pictured is the inspirational young Oli Hilsdon who you may remember joined us all in 2018 and we donated towards his treatment. He sadly passed away in January, just before his 27th birthday. He was diagnosed with a GBM, an aggressive brain tumour in 2014 and underwent chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy. In 2016 he ran the London Marathon for Brain Tumour Research, crossing the finishing line in less than four hours and raising an incredible £60,000. Devastatingly his symptoms returned at the end of 2017 and he underwent surgery and chemotherapy before trialling a vaccine made from the tumour itself. He endured his diagnosis with bravery, courage and the determination to fight it to the end - we are all devastated and he will remain forever in our hearts.
