Event: Shaving my head
We provide children's hospice care to children and families across Sussex

Story

Unfortunately I have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and will be starting chemotherapy shortly.

Never being one to miss an opportunity to raise money for charity, I’m going to milk the sympathy vote and ask you all to sponsor me to shave my head. I know I’m going to lose my hair anyway, so it’s sort of cheating, but this gives me back the control rather than the cancer calling all the shots and also gives my 16 month old twins a chance to get used to a bald Mummy Sue before I feel too poorly with the treatment.

I am doing this when at work in the office so I'm sure someone will video it and I'll ask them to post it on this page.

You may ask why I'm not doing this for a cancer charity. Well the simple answer is I can deal with what I am faced with as an adult but if something was wrong with the girls I think I would crumble. Chestnut Tree House not only offer great care for the child affected but also the siblings, Mums and Dads, the whole family. What they do is truly amazing and I hope we never need their services.

Rest assured I am going to beat this thing and don't plan on going anywhere soon but I hope in the meantime you can help me do something good for other families in Sussex. X
