Hi! My challenge this year is to be part of a team of 50 ladies who will be riding the Coast to Coast in June to raise at least £25,000 for Hospice at Home. This charity is 15 years old and needs to raise £9,500 each week to continue with the wonderful care they provide to terminally ill people who wish to be nursed in their own home. It is especially dear to me as I personally know people who have found this service invaluable to themselves and their families whilst they were in their last weeks of their life.
I have pledged to raise £500 for the charity and would be grateful if you could sponsor me to ensure I reach my target. Please don't be shy, dig deep and spare what you can!! To also raise money, I am holding a cake day sale and crazy hair day at my son’s school at Easter (thanks Hayton School!) and also doing a bag packing day at Morrisons, so life will be fun fun fun :) :)
The route is roughly 140 miles and we start off with our tyres in the Irish Sea at sunny Whitehaven - we then climb over the Pennines for a tough second day, with day three down hill into Tynemouth!! I am training for the event and currently cycling around 30-40 miles each weekend. I’ve even bought myself a new bike, with wonderful gears, that make all those hills (so far) achievable.
