Story

                              IN MEMORY OF

              SUE MAYNARD CAMPBELL MBE

                                          1952 - 2008

Sue passed away on 21 May 2008 in the Intensive Care Ward at St James' Hospital in Leeds. To help her breathe Sue had a trachyostomy but this made it very difficult for her to speak and communicate. She was given the use of a Lightwriter which was sent over from Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield. The staff in ICU had never seen such a device and were impressed at how easy it was for Sue to make her needs known to them with the Lightwriter.

Sue's family and friends would like to collect money in order to purchase a Lightwriter for ICU and possibly a second unit for the Thoracic Unit so that future patients can benefit. We hope to fix a small plaque to it with Sue's name on it.

For those of you who don't know what the Lightwriter does please click on the link below:   http://www.toby-churchill.com/products/text-speech/keyboard-lightwriters/sl40

Please give generously - Sue spent her life making things better for other people - let us follow her example...
