Story
It goes to say that suicide is something that doesn’t always concern us, or something that we could even consider would happen to anyone around us.
Recently we have lost two friends who felt like that was their only option to take. And although you may not know these two individuals too, they made a massive impact on everybody’s lives who did and they will never be forgotten with a smile on their face.
Overall there were 5,821 suicides in the UK in 2017, 4,382 of them male; looking at statistics like that is really quite scary and it definitely needs to change.
Speak! If it’s you reaching out to someone, or you feel as though someone needs you to be there for them; tell them, ask them, reassure them! It may not always be someone you expect, so never turn your back.
We’re raising money for a charity named The OLLIE Foundation (One Life Lost is Enough). Please donate whatever you can, whether it’s £1, or £50, anything is a help towards getting the message across, that suicide should never be an option.
In 2016, three parents who had all lost their teenage sons to suicide, vowed to do all they could to prevent other families suffering similar tragedies. The OLLIE Foundation (One Life Lost is Enough) is a registered charity funding suicide intervention skills training for adults working with young people. Since their registration in 2016 they have trained over 400 people in suicide prevention.Your fundraising helps them train even more people, break down the stigma attached to suicide, and increase awareness!
