Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page for the Bat Conservation Trust!

We are not creating a 'traditional' gift registry for our wedding, as we already live together and own most of the things required to run a house (we could do with a live-in cleaner, but wouldn't expect any of you to make that commitment). Instead, we are creating 2 JustGiving pages - one for bats, and one for us. This donation page is also a way for those that we were unable to invite to the day to support our wedding by making a donation to our bat-based cause.

THOSE WISHING TO VIEW BATS GO THIS WAY: Bats are magical, spooky, and misunderstood mammals that play an important role in many environments around the world. Plants depend on bats for pollination or to spread their seeds. Bats can tell us a lot about the state of the environment, which makes them excellent indicators for the wider health of the UK's wildlife. Bats are also good natural population controllers for insects, which helps crops and reduces the need for pesticides.

Bats can suffer when there are problems with insect populations (often caused by the overuse of pesticides), or when their habitats are destroyed or poorly managed. Many bats only live in large woodlands, and they play a critical role in spreading the seeds of trees and other plants.

Your donation will help the Bat Conservation Trust to discover more about bats and how they live in and use the landscape, take action to protect bats and enhance their landscapes, inspire people about bats and their environment, and strengthen the bat population across the UK by supporting conservation, and building skills, resources, motivation, and understanding.
