Urgent appeal for FITRANA and help your masjid during Ramadan and Covid-19 crisis
This year's Fitrana donations will be given to Covid-19 victims all over the world as well as the needy and poor in Asia and Africa.
As you are aware, covid-19 is not only disrupting economies and businesses but is also severely impacting our mosques, which rely solely on donations to operate. In these unprecedented and testing times, our masjid has temporarily closed and postponed all activities in light of this crisis. But Alhamdu lillah we are pleased to say that we are continuing our services online as much as possible.
The lockdown of the country has undoubtedly had a direct impact on the masjid's operations including the expected decline in come, especially from the Friday prayers and the donations we receive in the holy month of Ramadan. Nevertheless, the masjid will continue to meet its monthly expenditure.
The Bahu Trust / Sultan Bahu Masjid will be closed to the public throughout Ramadan but the mosque is still providing regular social and spiritual services to the community.
During the month of Ramadan, you can listen to daily Darse Hadith, khattam of Quran and spiritual reminders before Iftar, traveeh recitation, story telling for children and take part in ladies mehfil (ladies only).
We are also providing free daily hot Iftar meals in B11 and B12 for the most needy, please do get in touch if you know anyone that should receive a hot meal in the evening. This is in addition to the existing food bank project we are running for people affected by Covid-19
The mosque has always sustained itself with the kind and generous donations from you and we are therefore appealing to you now for help. We need your help so we can continue to offer vital services to our community.
Apart from your mosque donations, you can also donate your zakah, sadaqah, lillah, fidya, kafarah, fitrana and other donations to our masjid so we can continue our much needed services to the poor and needy around the world.
