Following the latest assault on Gaza, there is an even more urgent need for psychosocial and medical support. Regardless of where you sit politically on the Israel/Palestine subject, there are innocent lives being taken away and ruined on both sides. However, while Israel received $30bn in funding from the US in addition to other countries like the UK for the few affected, the Palestinians who have witnessed and lost so much have not – and this is on top of not being able to receive aid easily due to the Israeli regime preventing access.

 

Muslim Hands runs a Psychosocial Centre to support traumatised victims of war. Using a combination of specialist-led therapy sessions and recreational activities, the Centre has for the last four years helped children and their families suffering from traumatic stress related conditions.

 

The Centre now also provides general medical care to provide relief to children with malnutrition and related problems.

 

Despite the name, this doesn’t have anything to do with religion or politics – its human rights and looking after a fellow human who needs it.  Please dig deep and help them out. We’re not asking for much, just whatever you can spare *shakes tin* ;)
