Tillie Rose Webb
Tillie Rose Webb was born at James Cook Hospital, Middlesbrough on 3 November 2011, weighing a healthy 7lb 10oz. Within minutes the nurses realised something was wrong. The oxygen saturates in Tillie’s blood were extremely low and within an hour she had been rushed to the Childrens Heart Unit at the Freeman Hospital, where she was immediately operated on. The doctors inserted a baloon pump into Tillie’s tiny heart to stabilize her. Her parents were told that she had Trans Position of the Great Artery’s and to survive she would need open heart surgery. Within a week she was deemed strong enough to have the 6 hour operation where the surgeon’s switched over her 2 main valves and arteries. Four days later unbelievably Tillie was allowed home and is now doing well. Without the care and support of the doctors and nurses at the heart unit, Tillie would not be here. Her parents and family can’t thank them enough. CHUF (Childrens Heart Unit Fund) at the Freeman were also a big support, providing accomadation for her parents while Tillie was in hospital, meaning they could spend every spare minute with her. Everything they do is extremely important.
