Firstly, thank you for visiting my go fund me page. I have
chosen to run the Edinburgh Marathon in aid to raise money and awareness for
the IAPWA- International Aid for the Protection & Welfare of Animals.

IAPWA work to provide a lifeline to thousands of dogs and
cats every year in need of veterinary attention. As many of you know I am huge
animal lover and I share the IAPWA vision:

“Our vision is a world where all animals are treated with
compassion and respect”.

As a South African I have seen the need for the IAPWA
intervention in my home country. Dogs often are treated  more like pests, and not pets, often living
on the streets, eating rubbish, unloved and with no bed to sleep. The dogs
become strays that are un-neutered and the cycle continues with the dog
population forever growing.

The IAPWA run Neutering and Vaccine programmes as well as
provide much needed veterinary care. They also deliver education and awareness
sessions to those communities where it is needed, as a clinical educator myself
I am a firm believer that this is where change starts.
