Supply Chain NAY Bike a Thon · 2 July 2018

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

Here in Supply Chain NAY, we have decided to undertake a charity 'Bike A Thon' challenge to raise money for the NSPCC this coming summer - w/c 2nd July.

The aim is to complete 506 miles in 5 days using an exercise bike kindly donated by Xercise4Less, a national gym chain.

The 506 miles is based upon completing a virtual cycling tour of our region, starting at store 1176 Alnwick, then west over to Cumbria 1541 Maryport, then south to 25 Stocksbridge, then east to 1533 Scarborough and finally back north to the starting point of 1176 Alnwick.

Each team member (there's 14 of us in the office) will participate within the week, operating a hop on hop off approach, cycling for a maximum of 45 mins per person per day.

We will track every hour what mileage we have achieved, and the daily end result with a target of 100 miles per day so we know if it gets to the Thursday and we are only halfway, Friday will be an exhausting day!!

Please donate anything you can, if you can, every 'Lidl' helps :)
