Story
Normally I am the person donating to charities but last summer when my baby girl Sofia 🎀 was born 5 weeks early weighing 3.5 lbs (1.6kg) I ended up on the other side receiving support from this fantastic charity - SSNaP.
After Sofia was born so early it was a very intense and traumatic time. 💔 Sofia was unwell and so tiny. She ended up spending 2.5 months at the Neonatal care unit in John Radcliffe hospital, Oxford. She’s had many treatments including a heart surgery and has been diagnosed with a rare condition. In September she finally came home 🙏🏻
We can’t thank the amazing NHS staff for taking care of Sofia and making her strong enough to go home but also we are grateful for the immense support from SSNaP who have been always so kind. 👏🏼
This year SSNAP is celebrating 39 years of Supporting the Sick Newborn and their Parents (hence SSNAP). I am doing the 39km February challenge. For those who know me, yes I know I should have gone for 39 ‘miles’ but this is just the start. 😛 I’m planning to do lots more fundraising for SSNaP.
About this charity: They champion the right of all sick and premature babies treated in Oxfordshire and surrounding areas to receive the best care. They support families, purchase life saving equipment and enable life-changing research and training.
