Event: Support Rape Crisis (Wycombe, Chiltern and South Bucks) following the abuse they received from far-right extremists
We support anyone (16+) from rape & assault to heal, reclaim & rebuild their lives.

Story

On 14th February 2019, far-right extremist Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (aka Tommy Robinson) posted a photograph of a Rape Crisis (Wycombe, Chiltern and South Bucks) leaflet offering support for Black and ethnic minority female victims of rape with the caption "I guess it's ok to rape white women then?".

Supporters of Yaxley-Lennon then bombarded the charity's helpline, leaving racially abusive and hateful messages on the answerphone with the aim of clogging the phone lines. Their actions directed the efforts and limited resources of the staff away from their actual job of supporting victims of rape and ultimately prevented victims from accessing vital crisis support.

Rape Crisis (Wycombe, Chiltern and South Bucks) is a small offshoot of the larger Rape Crisis charity.  It offers support to female rape victims of ALL races and backgrounds. Like many similar charities, it offers specialist support for ethnic minority victims, many of whom speak a different languages and have to deal with wider cultural issues in relation to what they have been through.

Please show your support for Rape Crisis (Wycombe, Chiltern and South Bucks) after what has been a horrible week for the staff and volunteers by donating whatever you can.
