In October 2008, my son Stuart, lost 4 very good friends, Charlie, Ayman, Margaret and Sharif, when their light aircraft crashed into the Wicklow Mountains. The Charlie Froud Foundation has been set up to financially benefit the rescue services who searched tirelessly in hazardous weather conditions and over rugged terrain, These  were the Glen of Imal Rescue Services, the Mountain of Mourne Rescue Services and the Dublin and Wicklow Rescue Services. The Coast Guard and the Garda also had a huge part to play in what was a very complicated operation which had the saddest of outcomes.

Also supported by the Charlie Froud Foundation are Marlwood School, where both Ayman and Charlie were pupils and Bristol Hospices South West, there is no worst agony for a parent than losing a child.
