Story
Those of you who know me and have ever been on a plane with me will wonder if I’ve gone mad even attempting this... but no, I thought this was an event to really push myself and help raise as much money as possible for this AMAZING charity (www.hospiceathome.co.uk).
The charity provided so much support in the final few months and weeks of Dads life; I don’t think any amount of fundraising will ever repay their warmth, kindness and love. There was a registered nurse there every night to make sure Dad was settled and had a comfortable night which enabled the rest of the family to actually take some time out and get some sleep. They were also there to support us and really took the time to chat or just give us a hug when we were at our lowest points. The cost is immeasurable to us as a family but in actual figures it costs the charity £152 per night! I’d like every family who has to go through this to have someone there in those final few days so PLEASE dig deep and help!
I know Dad would be shaking his head, saying ‘what are you doing now?’ But I also know he’d be really proud of his Susie pie, so join with me and let’s show him what we can do when we put our minds to it.
Thank you so much,
Sue x
