Leeds 10km 2014 · 20 July 2014 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I took part in the Leeds 10k on 20th July 2014 in memory of my dear cousin Wendy Talbott (nee Grigg). Sadly Wendy lost her brave battle with cancer on 26 March this year at just 53 years of age. She is greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Rennie Grove Hospice Care was one of the organisations that supported Wendy and her family towards the end of her life, and I am completing this challenge to raise funds for them, so that they can continue to offer valuable support to other families who need their help. This was Wendy's wish, that those charities which supported her, would be remembered after she had gone.
Cancer affects many of us, and charities like Rennie Grove offer invaluable support at times when things feel as bleak as it's likely to get. Thank you in advance, from me and Rennie Grove Hospice care, for any donation you are able to make. It really is true that every little helps, and all my sponsorship really did spur me on as I ran the streets of Leeds in Wendy's name.
It was very hot, and I was determined to run for fun. not put myself under any pressure, but I still managed a very reasonable time of 64 minutes :-)
Thank you,
Susan xxx
