Story

For all those who had the pleasure of knowing Sue, and for some of you that did not know her so well.

She was a Wife, Mother, Sister and Grandmother who embraced life, one of the life's givers and took very little for herself.
Although her time was relatively short she felt that she had lived a good life, felt happy and lucky.

Spending a lot of her life working as a carer; working with the Homeless, the Elderly, Criminal Offenders, Children, Youth and people with severe disabilities and challenging behaviour. She really dedicated her life to helping others.

Unfortunately on March 1st 2012 she was admitted to a hospital after having a suspected seizure, which was diagnosed as a grade 4 Glioblastoma (Brain Tumour) a few weeks later.
This condition is reportedly one of the fastest and most aggresive forms of cancer, which fortunately is not as common as many other types.

Throughout her fatal illness she remained realistic but positive and faced her condition with great dignity and bravery, refusing to give way to the effects until they could not be controlled.

All the family felt that the care and support that St Lukes Hopsice in Basildon provided for Sue was first class. All persons involved within this organisation are truly amazing people, making those last moments so special, in spite of being sad and difficult times.

The Hospice is almost completely funded by donations and requires the continuation of fund raising to be able to operate and continue to provide the highest possible care in beautiful and comfortable surroundings.

It is the wish of all the family to ask all those that knew Sue to donate as much as they can (however small) and have requested that those who are to attend the funeral to donate money instead of buying flowers. We believe that such donations will have more significant effect rather than the short life of flowers.

Sue's 60th Birthday was only days before her passing and our family are also going to donate the money that we intended on spending on her to the Hospice as a token of our appreciation.
