The Sandstone Trail is a time-honoured tradition in St Joseph's parish in Sale where I grew up. It is a 32 mile walk from Frodsham in Cheshire to Whitchurch in Shropshire. My family have been involved in this since I was young, both as walkers and marshals. It is completed every two years to raise money for charities. 

This year CAFOD has been chosen as the charity because the group want to support their work with refugees. CAFOD's well-established system of working alongside partners in areas of need means that, as well as offering long term development support, they are able to act very quickly and effectively when a crisis situation arises.

Please do note that, although it is a Catholic charity, CAFOD responds to human need without regard to race, creed, nationality or politics. Both myself and Francesca will be joining the team in completing this very long and challenging walk and would very much appreciated any support you can offer.
