Story

Diagnosed on August 5th 2014 with grade 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Mastectomy September 16th where they then also found Cancer in the lymph nodes . October 2nd lymph nodes removed.

Chemo started on November 3rd  and my hair fell out after 2 weeks.  The last chemo was February 18th And the feeling was amazing! 15 lots of Radiotherapy followed from March through to the end of April in Southampton . Now I will be going through reconstruction and have also been put into menopause to hopefully prevent the cancer from ever coming back due to the fact that my cancer was driven by my hormones. Tamoxifen now for 5 years!

I made a decision to stay positive and as happy as possible throughout this whole journey and I truly believe it helped. I had quite a few setbacks that brought me down and of course had some horrible days. There is no way around it. It changes you.

I pushed through and kept fighting. Cancer wasn't going to beat me. Smiling and laughing are still a huge part of my daily medicine, and the compliments for being so positive make me want to try even harder.

What a journey, and I still have a long, healthy life ahead of me with my family and friends. I cannot wait to get my body back in shape and have my energy back. I have so many plans!
