Big Green Bike Ride - London to the New Forest · 27 April 2013 to 28 April 2013 ·

Friends of the Earth is an international community that brings together more than two million people in 75 countries dedicated to the protection of the natural world and the wellbeing of everyone in it.

Story

Cycling from London to Edinburgh last year with my son Andrew was fantastic because we supported each other during the exhilarating challenge and shared beautiful landscapes; sang in the rain; shed tears of joy at the finish and importantly, we raised vital funds supporting Friends of the Earth's important environmental work.

Everyone benefits from the sustainable solutions we can make a reality.

We are willingly putting ourselves through the miles of cold, wet and windy weather so that you can stay at home and feel lovely and warm and good about giving, without getting wet or breaking out in a sweat, but still make an important contribution to defending our environment.

I am really excited to take part in this year's ride with my eldest son, James who's also looking forward to the experience - especially after all the stories he's had to listen to from us about "the time we cycled to Edinburgh".  It is the most selfish way to raise money for a great organisation. All I ask is that you give what you can.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
