We are Penumbra Mental Health. Our vision is that people in Scotland live with positive mental wellbeing and can easily access quality support when they need it. Our services include care homes, supported living, self-harm, substance misuse, outreach, social inclusion and distress services.

Story

This is it.  For the first - and last - time, I am going for “the big one” and taking on the 26.2 miles of the Edinburgh Marathon on May 28th, along with my running buddy Kara.  Together we will make it to that finish line!

Mental health charities do not, in  the main, enjoy high profile publicity and so I have chosen to run for a wonderful charity called Penumbra. Founded in 1985, Penumbra works all over Scotland to promote mental health and wellbeing for all, to prevent mental ill health for people who are ‘at risk’, and to support people with mental health problems. It provides a wide range of services which offer hope and practical steps towards recovery, and campaigns to increase public knowledge about mental health and to influence national and local government policy.

Every penny raised will help Penumbra to continue its amazing work.
