Virgin London Marathon 2011 · 17 April 2011 ·
What started with a 13k last October to impress a guy has now developed into running a full-blown marathon. That's right on the 17th April 2011 I will be running the London Marathon for Mind Charity… I must be mad!!
Clearly a marathon is not challenging enough so I aim/have been told I am running it sub 4 hours. I think this will be impossible but I am willing to give it a damn good shot, ok someone might need to carry me on his shoulders!
As you can imagine achieving this will be really tough and require me to put in a lot of time and effort, so my exciting training schedule will be starting in November. Bring on the winter runs in the pitch black, rain and snow… I can’t wait!!! ;0)
The London Marathon is pretty much impossible to get onto so I am very excited that I have been given this opportunity by securing myself a charity place. I therefore need to raise £1600 for Mind charity so this is not going to be easy and I would really appreciate your support. I can assure you that I will officially hang up my running trainers after all of this and promise to never ask for a penny for charity again.
I decided to run for Mind, as it really is a great and valuable charity who in their own words 'helps people take control of their mental health. We do this by providing high-quality information and advice, and campaigning to promote and protect good mental health for everyone'. Mental health issues are vast ranging from anxiety, depression, eating disorders, OCD, postnatal depression, bipolar, panic attacks, schizophrenia, post traumatric stress, self-harm and suicide. 'With one in four people likely to experience a mental health problem every year it is critical that we raise awareness and promote good mental health for the benefit of all members of society'.
So please show your support and make a donation to Mind Charity, it is hugely appreciated.
Thanks Suz Xx
