Story
On July 2nd 2016, I’ll be walking 100km as part of the London 2 Cambridge Challenge.
I’m motivated by the life of my friend Eric Rivers and his family, my auntie and the UK’s 4998 other people that have Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
Eric Rivers was a close friend of mine, a husband, a father of three, a cricketer and a source of inspiration to all that knew him.
In 2010, at the age of 44 he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), the most common and aggressive form of Motor Neurone Disease.
Following spirited fight against the terrible symptoms of Motor Neurone Disease over the five years since his diagnosis, Eric sadly passed away late in 2015.
I'm embarking on this challenge in the hope that this small effort will help to reach a solution for those still fighting MND.
