Story

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our justgiving page in support of the Whale & Dolphin Conservation (http://us.whales.org/ ) to STOP WHALING ( www.whales.org ) in the World.

In 2007 I watched a movie called 'On a clear day' which is about a character called Frank and his quest to swim the English Channel.

I was inspired by the movie and wanted to see if I was capable of such a feat. The only trouble was I hadn't swam for 10 years and when I did it was 2 lengths backstroke not front crawl!!!

I trained myself and in 2008 managed to swim the English Channel in 11 hours 35 mins. Then I followed this in 2010 by swimming 2 way Gibraltar Straits in 9 hours 39 mins becoming the first British person to make the 2 way crossing and broke the British record one way in 3 hours 25 mins.

I then heard of a challenge called the 'Oceans Seven' which was selected by legendary swimmer and coach Steve Munatones as the hardest 7 Ocean swims in the world. This became my new focus therefore I went on to do the following swims:

Molokai Strait (2012) - 17 hours 2 mins

Catalina Island (2012) - 12 hours 15 mins

Tsugaru Channel (2013) - 15 hours 25 mins

Cook Strait (2014) - 8 hours 39 mins

My final swim is Ireland to Scotland notoriously known as the hardest ocean swim on the planet which could be in the next few days!!

All of my swims have been for Whale & Dolphin Conservation, which is a charity very close to my heart. They work tirelessly to protect whales and dolphins and stop whaling and the slaughter of innocent mammals. I was privileged to be escorted by a pod of dolphins for 1 hour 30 mins on my Cook Strait crossing after a shark was swimming below me during the swim. It is an experience i'll never forget!!

I would appreciate so much your support :)

Many thanks,

Adam
