Misty died last week after developing Canine Hemangiosarcoma, one of the most aggressive cancers a dog can get. And the prognosis for Systemic Metastasized Hemangiosarcoma in dogs is poor. This disease can strike with little warning, as a dog can appear fit and well prior to sudden illness or collapse. It is known as "The silent killer".

My Misty did more than survive Mammary Cancer -she overcame it. Until Hemangiosarcoma struck her (unconnected with her earlier fight with Mammary Cancer) She was One Tough Dog, and will never be forgotten, or her strength and her courage in the face of odds against her, and her happy, instinctive willingness to stay young forever and to fight back.

In her memory, I would like to raise funds for research into Canine Hemangiosarcoma, that one day it may become a preventable, or early-detectable disease, giving dogs a better fighting chance against this Silent Killer.
