Sylwia's Royal Parks Half Marathon

Spartan Race · 27 September 2015
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Maya- our little Angel is a 11 year old struck down with AHUS (Atypical Haemolytic Uremic Syndrom) aged just 4. Her and our lives changed forever.
This horrendous and terrible disease ravaged her little body in weeks and at one stage left her fighting for her life. She pulled through however she was not unscathed.
She lost her kidneys and was on dialysis ever since. Initially she was on peritoneal dialysis but lost her catheter due to infection. She then had permacath inserted and started haemodialysis (through blood). Finally in 2013 after 5 long years on dialysis she received a kidney from her father. Although the disease came back and she needs to be on multiple medications to survive, she is doing really well.

I will run Royal Parks Half Marathon to rise funds for Spread a Smile because they bring such fantastic and much needed entertainment to the bedsides of very sick children who cannot leave hospitals in Great Ormond Hospital and not only.
