We provide expert care and support to young people with cancer

Story

SRLV employees [including one former employee - thanks Chris!] are embarking on an intrepid adventure across nations.

We will be cycling for 4 days covering 300 miles, between 2 great cities and all for one fantastic cause; Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT).

Around seven young people aged between 13 and 24 are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK. They need expert treatment and support from the moment they hear the word ‘cancer.’ TCT are the only charity dedicated to making this happen. (https://www.teenagecancertrust.org/)

We'll be taking to the roads putting serious hours in the saddle over the course of four days, turning our legs over miles and miles and climbing strenuous hills throughout the tour .

*Day 1; London to Calais*
Our challenge begins early in South London, heading out through rural Kent, winding through traditional British countryside and along the North Downs Way before reaching the white cliffs of Dover. The ferry takes us across to Calais and our first nights resting place (95 miles approx.).

*Day 2; Calais to Abbeville*
Stunning countryside awaits in northern France as we travel south through quaint villages, through Desvres and continuing through the windy roads of the Canche River, through the Artois region and finishing the day in Abbeville (75 miles approx.).

*Day 3; Abbeville to Beauvais*
The route follows the river Somme out of Abbeville. Somme is famous for its battles, yet is also a Celtic word meaning tranquility... summing up the feeling of the day as we cycle through the region before finishing the day in Beauvais (70 miles approx.).

*Day 4; Beauvais to Paris*
Our final day of cycling and the big push to Paris. We'll still be treated to some stunning countryside as we pass alongside the River Oise. After lunch we near the outskirts of Paris and begin to spot the familiar sights of the Eiffel Tower and River Seine before cycling the last miles along some of the famous boulevards and finishing at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. Celebrations ensue :-) (60 miles approx.).

We'd appreciate any donations, however big or small, as every penny aids the efforts of ourselves towards goal, but ultimately to support with the fantastic work carried out by TCT.
